Bronx_Cocktail

the Bronx Cocktail (Circa 1905)

2 oz. gin
1 oz. sweet vermouth
1/2 oz. dry vermouth
1 1/2 oz. fresh orange juice
7 dashes orange bitters (optional)
Pour all the ingredients into a shaker full of ice.
Shake until the shaker is frosty cold.
Pour into chilled Martini or coupe glass
Garnish with an orange rind.
Serve & enjoy.





Mahhattan cocktail

Manhattan Cocktail (Circa 1880)

3 oz. whiskey
1 1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
6 dashes Angostura bitters
Pour all the ingredients into a tumbler glass full of ice.
Stir until the glass is frosty cold.
Strain into a chilled Martini glass.
Garnish with an orange slice.
Serve & enjoy.





Queens cocktail

Queens Cocktail (Circa 1930's)

2 oz. gin
1 oz. sweet vermouth
1 oz. dry vermouth
1 oz. fresh pineapple juice
Pour all the ingredients into a shaker full of ice.
Shake until the shaker is frosty cold.
Pour into chilled Martini or coupe glass.
Garnish with a slice of fresh pineapple.
Serve & enjoy.





Staten Island Cocktail

Staten Island Ferry Cocktail (Circa 1975)

1 part available spirit (i.e. whatever you have on hand)
1 part pineapple juice
Serve over ice in plastic Solo cup.
Garnish with a bendy straw.
Serve & enjoy.

Brooklyn Cocktail (Circa 1908)

2 oz. rye
3/4 oz. dry vermouth
1/4 oz. Amer Picon (an orange liquor no longer available in America; substitute Torani Amer)
1/4 oz. Maraschino liqueur
Pour all the ingredients into a tumbler glass full of ice.
Stir until is frosty cold.
Strain into a chilled Martini or coupe glass.
Serve & enjoy.
